THE SOUTHWEST REGION OF NEW YORK HAS LONG BEEN KNOWN TO BE PRIME AGRICULTURAL LAND THAT SUPPORTS A DIVERSITY OF FARMS AND FARM FAMILIES.

FreshLocalWNY is a project of the Southern Tier West (STW) Regional Planning & Development Board.  The mission of STW is to help coordinate and enhance activities in Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua Counties, so as to promote social, physical, and economic development in those counties.

OUR GOAL
STW has taken the lead in assessing the existing assets of the regional local food system.  STW develops strategic responses, program and project opportunities, and identifies financial resources and partners to grow the local food economy with an overarching goal of developing the food economy in the Southern Tier so as to increase market demand and increase consumption for locally grown and produced food products.
